The Preparation Process for Dental Veneers
In order to determine if you are a good candidate for dental veneers, we meet with you for an initial assessment. After a dental exam, we discuss the procedure as well as your goals. We will also take a digital X-ray and get an impression of your teeth.
Preparing your mouth for the teeth veneers involves removing a small amount of enamel from your tooth. This creates a smooth surface for the veneer. We then trim the enamel, take a mold of your tooth, and send it to our dental laboratory to create your veneer. Once we receive the veneer, we bond it to your teeth to create a perfect and beautiful fit.
Taking Care of Tooth Veneers
Tooth veneers must be cared for just like your natural teeth. While they are strong, they are still susceptible to staining. For instance, some foods you may need to avoid include raw carrots, red wine, and other stain-producing foods. This will help to preserve the white color of your new veneers. Maintenance is easy. Regular brushing, flossing, and bi-yearly dental checkups are important.
However, we also recommended that you use non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste. This maintains the longevity of your veneers for many years. If you’re interested in getting veneers, we also offer Care Credit financing to make it financially feasible for you.
